Exciting News!!

A few days ago, I received a forwarded email from Mrs. Nancy saying that a little boy, Sechaba, is in the adoption process!!! They are currently his foster parents while the adoption process is pending. He is seven and a half and only weighs 11.5 pounds. They have taken him to a hospital in Morija for x-rays and the dr. gave him scab cream, multivitamin syrup, and iron tablets. They ran into two nurses who remembered him from when he was hospitalized for two weeks in 2006 because his uncle put him in boiling water for punishment. They also learned that his aunt often made him sleep outside.
I spent time with Sechaba while I was at MIS and it is amazing how sweet he was from having been abused physically, mentally and emotionally. He was so small I thought he was so much younger than he was. He did not speak English but he loved being tickled and he loved to laugh.
My heart was filled with joy when I read that Sechaba got his first warm bath and slept in a bed with blankets for the first time. No matter where a child may come from, no matter how hopeless their situation may seem, there is always hope. Just like there is now hope for Sechaba.
